The 2025 Sorento at a Glance
Sorento Overview It's been over 20 years since Kia introduced the Sorento midsize crossover to the U.S. market. Now in its fourth generation, the Sorento is one of the most popular SUVs in the Kia lineup.
One reason for the Sorento's popularity is its wide range of engine options. Not only are there two gas engine choices - including a powerful turbocharged version - the Sorento is also available with a hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrain, the latter of which promises more than 30 miles of electric-only driving.
In addition to its multiple engine options, the Sorento is available in varying levels of luxury and performance. Buyers looking for a more adventurous experience should consider the Sorento X-Pro, which has a rugged look, all-terrain tires, and standard torque-vectoring all-wheel drive.

What Trim Levels are Available for the 2025 Sorento?
The 2025 Kia Sorento is available in eight gas-powered trim levels: LX, S, EX, X-Line EX, SX, X-Line SX, X-Line SX Prestige, and X-Pro SX Prestige. The EX and SX Prestige are also available with a hybrid or plug-in hybrid powertrain, bringing the number of trims to 12. All X-Line, X-Pro, and hybrid/PHEV trims come standard with all-wheel drive. The Hybrid EX is the popular trim, but we recommend the X-Line EX for the best value.Â

What is the Interior Like in the 2025 Sorento?
To answer your question in simple terms: stunning!Â
Like its exterior, the Kia Sorento's cabin has a sturdy, functional look. There's plenty of storage for small items in the center console, door pockets, and dash. The front bucket seats are supportive and comfortable, finished in different materials depending on trim: cloth in the LX; synthetic leather in the S, EX, and SX; and quilted soft leather in the SX Prestige trims.
Middle-row seats are either a three-passenger 60/40-split bench in the LX and S trims or a pair of captain's chairs in higher trim levels. Both configurations slide forward and backward to provide easier access to the 50/50-split third-row seats. If you're not using the third row, you can slide the middle row back to net a spacious 41.7 inches of second-row legroom.

How does the 2025 Sorento Handle on the Road?
The 2025 Kia Sorento's powertrains are the same as those in the 2024 model. The LX and S feature an economical 191-horsepower 2.5-liter four-cylinder paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. It can reach 60 mph in just over 9 seconds. The EX and SX trims get a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 281 hp and 311 pound-feet of torque that can go from zero to 60 mph in just over 7 seconds. It also has an eight-speed automatic transmission.
The hybrid models are fitted with a turbocharged 1.6-liter gas engine and an electric motor for a combined output of 227 hp, making them slightly quicker than the gas versions. Both the gas 2.5-liter turbo and the hybrid 1.6-liter turbo deliver ample power over a wide range of engine speeds, making the Sorento feel responsive around town and on the highway.
